„Book On!” is a unique literature event in Luxembourg whose aim is to promote children’s literature, foster reading culture and provide Luxembourg families with high quality cultural activities. Festival’s main target audience are children aged 0-12 and their families.

The festival will feature authors from Luxembourg, Lithuania, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, and Ukraine, and will present literary works in various forms and art styles. Festival‘s program will include meetings and workshops with writers and illustrators, opening of illustration exhibition, theatre performances, film screenings, and a children’s literature book fair.

Activities will be conducted in Luxembourgish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, English and Lithuanian.

This year’s program highlights include workshops by illustrator André Letria, founder of Pato Lógico publishing house in Portugal, award-winning author from Ukraine Kateryna Mikhalitsyna, winners of der Deutsche Jugendliteraturpreis 2021 Lina Itagaki (Lithuania), prominent writers and illustrators from Luxembourgh – Marc Weydert, Anja Di Bartolomeo, Marie-Isabelle Callier and others.

The long-term goal is to develop “Book On!” into an important, regular, international children’s literature event, offering opportunities for children and their families, and also for field professionals.

The event is organized by the Lithuanian Community in Luxembourg in association with a reading promotion program “Children’s World” (LT) and in partnership with Bertrange Commune and Libreria Italiana Lussemburgo.
